Frequently Asked Questions

  • Single-crystalline CVD Graphene refers to CVD graphene films grown on single-crystalline growth substrates, such as single-crystalline copper wafers and single-crystalline copper foils. The single-crystalline copper films can either be in the form of foil or on a sapphire wafer.

  • Single-crystalline CVD Graphene films, as the name suggests, consists of a mono-directional crystal orientation of the CVD Graphene film and ultra-low density of grain boundaries.

Polycrystalline CVD Graphene films consist of multiple orientations of CVD Graphene grain and the presence of grain boundaries.

A prominent method to assess the crystallinity of CVD Graphene films is the Selected Area Electron Diffraction using Transmission Electron Microscopy.

  • Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) is a prominent technique helpful in characterizing & validating the copper growth substrate crystallinity.

An example of an EBSD map of single-crystalline Cu foil:

Our single-crystalline Copper growth substrates consist of Cu <111> crystal orientation along the foil normal axis.

  • Single-crystalline copper growth substrates provide the opportunity to synthesize high-quality single-crystalline CVD graphene & other two-dimensional materials.

However, we would like to provide a word of caution to our users. The users must be wary of the following, important details:

    a) CVD synthesis conditions play an important role in further minimizing potential defects in synthetic, single-crystalline CVD graphene films.

    b) Optimization of CVD growth conditions must be considered during CVD graphene synthesis on single-crystalline copper growth wafers and foils.

Please check our range of single-crystalline CVD graphene film products to get access to single-crystalline CVD graphene films directly & skip the CVD process!

  • Single-crystalline CVD graphene films are amongst the highest-quality synthetic CVD graphene films producible with high mobility, cleanliness, and low defect density.

However, we would like to provide a word of caution to our users:

    a) The introduction of additional artifacts such as wrinkles, cracks, and damages during the transfer process must not be overlooked.

    b) The transfer process also may influence the electronic properties of the CVD graphene devices and applications. Therefore, transfer process optimization must not be overlooked.

Please check our range of single-crystalline CVD graphene transfer services and skip optimizing the CVD graphene transfer process!

  • The CVD graphene transfer service includes CVD graphene transfer on your substrate of choice. This reduces substantial risk and optimization requirements involved during the CVD graphene integration.

The CVD graphene transfer request can be requested for single, bi, tri, and up to five-layer CVD graphene films on various substrates.

The size of the substrates can vary from small-scale chips to wafers and other large substrates.

The CVD graphene transfer service extends to polycrystalline and single-crystalline CVD graphene films.

Get in touch with us using the contact form below to explore CVD graphene transfer services.

Note: As of April 2024, the transfer service of single-crystalline CVD graphene films is momentarily offered in cooperation with our partners, unless otherwise specified.

  • Our shipping terms and fee cover the customs clearance and delivery of the products. The VAT is taken care of by the recipient. All recipients must provide their EORI and VAT identification during the ordering process.

Please refer to our store policies for additional details: Shipping, Returns, and Use Policy.

  • Single-crystalline CVD graphene may reduce them and can provide improved electrical performance provided your CVD graphene transfer has also been optimized.

  • Recommended precautionary measures to follow during product handling are:

    1) Wafers: Avoid scratches of the copper thin film during handling or processing. It is recommended to handle the wafers at the wafer flat region.

    2) Foils: Avoid scratches, and deformation, during handling or processing of the copper foil. It is recommended to handle the wafers at a selected corner of the copper foil.

    3) TEM Grids: It is recommended to handle the TEM grids at the edges.
